In the explosive book, "In the Closet of the Vatican," author Frederic Martel describes a gay subculture at the Vatican and calls out the hypocrisy of Catholic bishops and cardinals.   One of the real problems the Church faces in regards to gay priests is knowing just how many there are in the priesthood. As someone who has traveled in church circles for most of my adult life, and who, for the past 22 years has spoken with clergy all over the country, anecdotal evidence convinces me that the number is at least 50% and most.

High priest, Hebrew kohen gadol, in Judaism, the chief religious functionary in the Temple of Jerusalem, whose unique privilege was to enter the Holy of Holies (inner sanctum) once a year on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, to burn incense and sprinkle sacrificial animal blood to expiate his own sins and those of the people of this occasion he wore only white linen garments.   This, and any question about priests and sex or sexuality, is incredibly and famously difficult to answer. There have been several sociological, psychological, and ecclesiological studies that have tried to get a fix on this and most that i have.

Between 20 and 60 percent of all Catholic priests are gay, according to one estimate cited by Donald B. Cozzens in his well-regarded The Changing Face of the Priesthood. For gay . The high priesthood remained in the family of Zadok from the beginning of Solomon's reign (about B.C.) until Menelaus bought the high priesthood ( B.C.) in the days of Antiochus Epiphanes. Azariah, the son of Zadok, was the first individual to be explicitly identified as the “high priest” .

EXCERPT: The High Priesthood of Being gay is a labor of love over 12 years in the writing. It included numerous, often exhausting, edits for accuracy and truthfulness. Its a bold attempt to separate out Being and Nothingness in what it is to be gay.

Priesthood 'becoming mainly gay' Thu 10 Aug EDT EDT A book which claims that the priesthood is becoming a gay profession has divided the 60m Roman Catholics in the United States Author: Stephen Bates. But the speculators ignored one interesting point: Opening the priesthood to married men would probably reduce the high percentage of priests who are gay.

While doing research for my book Author: Ross Benes. Some of the most senior clerics in the Roman Catholic church who have vociferously attacked homosexuality are themselves gay, according to a book to be published.

Eighty per cent of priests working at the Vatican are gay, although not necessarily sexually active, it is claimed in the book, In the Closet of the Vatican.

All else aside, the book speaks to the enormous and seemingly growing tension between a church that frequently vilifies and marginalizes gay men and a priesthood dense with them. I know a 55 years old priest who claims that 60% of the priests his age are gay and 80% of the bishops are gay.

The priest who told me this is a normal diocesan priest who does not even know the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM.) Many priests and seminarians from several dioceses concur on these admittedly-estimated numbers.

A large majority of priests in the Vatican are gay, although many are not sexually active, a new book claims. A total of about 80 percent of the most revered clerics in the Roman Catholic Church.

Some of the most senior clerics in the Roman Catholic church who have vociferously attacked homosexuality are themselves gay, according to a book.

High priest (Hebrew: כהן גדול kohen gadol; with definite article הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל ha'kohen ha'gadol, the high priest; Aramaic kahana rabba) was the title of the chief religious official of Judaism from the early post-Exilic times until the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE.

Previously, in the Israelite religion including the time of the kingdoms. Melchizedek, Melchisedech, Melkisetek, or Malki Tzedek (/ m ɛ l ˈ k ɪ z ə d ɛ k /; Hebrew: מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶֿק malkī-ṣeḏeq, "king of righteousness"; Amharic: መልከ ጼዴቅ malkī-ṣeḏeq; Armenian: Մելքիսեդեք, Melkisetek), was the king of Salem and priest of El Elyon (often translated as "most high God") mentioned in the 14th chapter of the Book of Genesis.

Overview. The priesthood is the eternal power and authority of God. Through the priesthood God created and governs the heavens and the earth.

Through this power He redeems and exalts His sons and daughters, bringing to pass their “immortality and eternal life” ().The Aaronic Priesthood is “an appendage to the greater, or the Melchizedek Priesthood” (Doctrine and Covenants ). It is of great importance that the reader realize that the priesthood of Jesus is after the order of Melchisedec.

Again, the High Priesthood of Jesus being after the order of Melchisedec and not Aaron is repeatedly stated in Hebrews: "Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec" (5: 10, see also 5: 6, 6: 20, 7: 15, 17).

Many gay priests spoke of being pulled between denial and confusion, finally coming out to themselves in their 30s or 40s. Father Greiten was 24 when he realized he was gay. The Sons of Zadok (Hebrew: בְּנֵי צָדוֹק ‎ bǝnê Ṣādōq) are a family of priests, kohens, descended from Zadok, the first high priest in Solomon's Temple.

The sons of Zadok are mentioned three times in the Hebrew Bible, as part of the Third Temple prophecy in the final chapters of the Book of Ezekiel, and are a theme in Jewish and Christian interpretation of these chapters. Among the most controversial claims in the book, which will be released in Western European under the title Sodoma (Sodom), is one interviewee’s assertion that 80 percent of priests in the Vatican are gay.

Martel also “names names” about Church officials who are allegedly gay, those who have led double lives, and those involved in crimes. Hebrews And the others who became priests were numerous, because death prevented them from continuing in office, 24 but he holds his priesthood permanently since he lives forever.

25 So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 For it is indeed fitting for us to have such a high priest: holy, innocent, undefiled. The calling of a priest also includes assisting in missionary work.

This calling was part of the ancient Church. Members of the Aaronic Priesthood today are also to help the elders with their missions.

Their specific duty is to make appointments and prepare the way for the elders. (See D&C –8.) We can assist in missionary work by. I barely heard the priest talk as he arranged for the other boy to move into a different room and ordered him to directly apologize to me.

I accepted the apology without thinking. He gripped the other boy by the shoulder and told him plainly that if he heard a single rumor about me being gay, he'd assume that it was him who had told without my. Almost as soon as the Congregation for Clergy published the new Ratio fundamentalis institutionis sacerdotalis on December 8.

media reports in the United States characterized it. “For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins” (Heb. ). - Hebrews –2 Over the past three days, we have seen the author of Hebrews introduce this topic by telling us of Jesus’ superiority as High Priest.Gay Romance Featuring a Cleric or Priest Score A book’s total score is based on multiple factors, including the number of people who have voted for it and how highly those voters ranked the book.

In the book of Hebrews, Jesus is called a High Priest (Hebrews ; ). The word “priest” carries a couple of primary meanings. First, it means one who mediates in religious services.
